How payment works at Active Gym

How the monthly payment is calculated

The monthly payment is the same amount each month (exc August), regardless of whether there are 3 or 5 sessions in a month. The monthly fee is calculated by multiplying the weekly session price by the number of sessions in a year, and then dividing it by 11. This allows parents/carers to be set up with a regular Direct Debit that doesn’t have to change month to month.

No payment is required for the month of August, and we’ll continue to run as normal through the one week half terms in October, February and May. We pause for Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks.

How to get set up with the Direct Debit

After your child attends their first free trial session, you will receive two emails with the steps for securing their space in the session they attended.

The first email asks you to fill in your payment details and authorise us to collect payment from you for your child’s gymnastics sessions. Please ensure you fill this in soon as possible to ensure that your child’s space in the session is reserved.

The second email holds more information about our club, including our welcome pack. This will come to you around 2-3 days after your child’s trial session.

Common questions

  • If your child misses a session or multiple sessions, so long as their fee has been received or the month, their place at gymnastics is reserved.

We are unable to offer a discount or refund on missed sessions. In some cases, children may be able to attend alternative sessions in the same week or next to make up for their missed training hours. This must be organised with a Senior Coach at the club beforehand.

This is best arranged by email.

    More info is available here.

  • The fees for the first month of your child’s gymnastics are reduced as their first session is free of charge.

You will receive an email a few days after your child’s session with the outstanding fees for the current month. In some cases this may be £0.00 if the session was the last one of the month.

  • Payment will be taken on the 1st of the month via the Direct Debit you have set up with us. You will be notified of this before but it will be withdrawn automatically so there will be nothing you need to do!

If payment is unable to be withdrawn, your child's space in the session is at risk of being lost. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

  • GoCardless is our partner for managing our Direct Debits. They are secure, and are trusted by over 85,000 businesses.

For more information on GoCardless and Direct Debits, please visit their website.

  • Gymnastics pauses three times a year for two weeks at Christmas, two weeks at Easter and six weeks for the Summer. During all of these breaks, we regularly host holiday camps.

The monthly gymnastics fee is the same for each month of the year regardless of whether there are 3 or 5 Gymnastics Days that month. The exception being August for which there are no sessions and no fees due.

Please see the example below for a weekly 2hr session:

42 weeks of gymnastics per year x £12.50 per session = £525 per year

    £525 per year / 11 months = £48/month

  • Here at Active Gym, we want to save you time paying us each month. So we’re moving all regular payments to Direct Debit.

Switching to Direct Debit will save you the hassle of manually paying each month, or ammending a standing order. You’ll be notified of any upcoming payments and can cancel them whenever you want. Moreover, the Direct Debit Guarantee makes this the safest way to pay.

More information about Direct Debits can be found on the website of our payment partner, GoCardless.
